 Re: The RPG Haven Podcast
Too bad - I can't make this one (bad date for me) but hopefully we can get some big attendance for the GR in the fall - I'm crossing my fingers for a sympathetic date! Sadly, it means missing Troy's Rome game

 Re: The RPG Haven Podcast
I suppose GR means Grand Roludothon? I still regret missing that one.

GR was cool, and you should come to the next one. For my money, though, I like the Roludothon house con almost better. Consonant Dude, are you Martin that I met at the last Roludothon I attended? I believe you played in my Don't Rest Your Head game?

 Re: The RPG Haven Podcast
I played in the fantasy adventure Jocelyn ran using Savage Worlds . It was warfare-heavy and we had to infiltrate the goblinoid enemy. Jocelyn was not satisfied with the pace but I thought it was brilliant how he had given each of us different Goblin words so we could communicate, interrogate or gather intelligence by filling the blanks. I deplored not playing DRYH that day so Jocelyn just handed me the books. DRYH is much like Unknown Armies in that they are games I want to play to wrap my head around the concepts before I even dare try to run them for my players. I know there's cool stuff in there but I know I can't bring it out myself before I try. I had busted my ankle before the event. If you were at the same Roludothon, you might remember me as the guy who had a cast on his right leg, walking with a cane. That explains why I only made it for one actual session that day. I am totally with you on the house Roludothon. I am sold on the concept because it's sufficiently intimate yet there are so many people to talk to and share with. Jocelyn and his girlfriend are extremely welcoming folks. Can't say enough good things about them.

Yeah Jocelyn is awesome. While I've never met him in person, I know that much from the internet.

The whole Roludo crew are awesome! When my wife and I went up for the last GR, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. -clash

Looks like there will be a niche to fill.

 Re: The RPG Haven Podcast
Sucks, that was the most interesting gaming podcast, IMO.

I'm curious, CD. What about the show made it the most interesting to you?

 Re: The RPG Haven Podcast
Keep in mind I'm not really big on podcast. I love their enthusiasm. I think a co-host formula is ideal for such a show but not everyone can pull it off the way they do. They have amazing chemistry. I'm usually doing stuff around the house and put podcasts in the background. Veronica always gets me back into the show if my mind is drifting. English is a second language for me and she's one of those few persons who speaks very fast but I never have any problem understanding anything she says. I find that they get the better out of their guests and they go just deep enough to get some substance without boring me or getting overly technical. There's tons of interesting people covering interesting topics in their podcasts but as far as how they hosts, they were amazing IMO.
