Re: Lite Fantasy RPG - Chevalier - Tales of Charlemagne
Wow, just found the characters for the play test. Father Guillaume Di Genti, Catholic priest. Erond the Dane, knight of the Realm. Elaine auf Rattisbonne, pagan sorceress in hiding. See attached character sheets.
As I remember it, Mike played Father Guillaume as the group went to the Vallee de Tenebre. The area had not been heard from in some months and the local lord was missing. King Charles sent them to root out the problem. Upon arrival the peasants were in a terror and being preyed upon by thier own people. The evil was said to be coming from a local church where a new basement and foundation were in the works. Once in (and that was no simple feat due to the possessed villagers and holy men) the group made their way to the basement where they discovered ancient pagan markings warning of a sleeping evil. They proceeded down into the pit and faced a monsted of innumerable tentacles and a horrible thousand eyes. Erond nearly met his doom and it was only by Elaine using her magic did the party survive.
As I remember, it was a 200 or maybe 250 point monster and balanced out well against the 3 characters. I think that, as with most threat indicator systems, had more to do with the mix of character skills than with the body count.

Sounds about right, Bill.
Those were the good old days of gaming for me in, at least in my adult years.

Re: Lite Fantasy RPG - Chevalier - Tales of Charlemagne
I am hoping to have it out early next year. Part of that depends on play testers (Zach, I am looking at you). My schedule has been maddening lately (I need to call Mark back, my bad totally there). So, first All Squirrels Must Be Eaten then Chevalier...although Linda glares at me and says we should do Britannia after that...so many projects so little time.

That was a blast, indeed. No rush on the return call, Bill. I'm up to my eyeballs in paperwork until next Wednesday morning anyway.
