BlindLuck Game Studios is firing up a Kickstarter campaign. We're trying to raise just $625 worth of preorders to help us get our new RPG project over the last hurdle.

Children of Fire is a story-focused RPG where players are angels (or any of a host of other supernatural creatures in the related mythos.) We previously released the boardgame of the same name, and now it's time for the RPG.

I've always been a fan of the free version of Children of Fire (and Children of Clay) that's been available for free online for years. So I'll look into this for sure...

Yes, the web version was released in 1999. Erich (the game's original author) and I have continued to collaborate on a variety of gaming projects. We started BlindLuck Studios together back in 2005 and now we're releasing the RPG as a rulebook.

Wow! Only 3 days into the campaign and we're over halfway to our goal! Huge thanks to everyone who has supported the project so far.

And another rpg on its way to be published through a kickstarter project! I wonder how this is going to change the indie rpg scene (no forgite connotation intended).

I think it's really changing indie game publishing. With BlindLuck we released 3 boardgames our first year. One of them sold well (from our perspective, anyway). Another sold okay. The 3rd barely sold at all. Had we had Kickstarter we could have tested the market and only released the games with proven market appeal.

That said, we'll see how this goes... indie publishing is still really tough to do successfully at.

BUT, the campaign is still going. You can still preorder the rulebook for only $25, and I've instituted a stretch goal... if we get 2x the backers I had hoped for, I'll bundle the Children of Clay expansion into the deal.

We've passed our $1250 stretch goal! We've introduced a new stretch goal that'll give a special-edition bonus module for EVERYONE who pledges $25 or more.
