Post A piece of the d20 rebuild I'm working on
Hey, I've mentioned in a few places that I'm working with a pal on a rebuild of the d20 system using bits of Iron Heroes, Unearthed Arcana, 3.5 and our own ideas. The system is classless, with PCs selecting various mechanical bonuses, "perks" (which are very similar to feats) and "abilities", which are basically long chains of abilities that PCs buy at various levels, and which level up based on the level they're obtained, rather than character or class level (so a character who picks up an ability at character level 5 has it at ability level 15 by the time they reach character level 20). I just finished the basics of the magic system after a couple of days of hard work. It's 14 spellcasting abilities using 5 different themed spell lists built for an upcoming sword-and-sorcery game using the Spell Compendium and the PHB. I took out most of the zap spells and instant-death spells at the request of my pal, so people who find the regular spell lists frustrating at high levels might like these more.

I've uploaded here in case anyone is curious, and I'm taking commentary from anyone interested in giving it. It's 23 pages long.
