 PS3/Xbox/Wii
Anybody here playing anything on the consoles lately?
I just got a new PS3 slim a few weeks after my fatty died from the YLOD. I traded in a bunch of games the other day and picked up Killzone 3 (I usually wait until the hype dies down before playing a game) to see if it was an improvement on KZ2. It's basically the same game with new maps. I don't mess around with the single player campaigns on games (usually). I head straight for multiplayer. We also picked up the Pirates Lego game. I played a little bit of that with the old lady, but she and my daughter play it more. I like shoot-em-up games more.

Not lately. My XBOX RRODed and I haven't taken the time to repair it since. It's been... six months now, or so.
I'm a huge Halo fan. That's what I mostly play when I can access Live.

I don't generally play the console...or computer..or handheld...games. Sometimes with the family but mostly not so much. However, Benoist, if you want a good game of Halo on Xbox Live, my son will pwn you....

I've never played the Xbox before. I own the other two. I thought about buying one of the $199 ones just for the hell of it, but I really don't have the time to play both consoles (I play the Wii about once or twice a year).

 Re: PS3/Xbox/Wii
We've sold all out consoles except the Xbox and the Atari Flashback 2.
There really wasn't enough to play on the Wii, and the PS3 was mainly for Gran Turismo 5, which turned out to suck when it finally came out.
So we sold them both, and I bought an Xbox so I could play Forza 3. It's worked out quite nicely. XBLA and the Indie Games stores alone are worth the switch, and the fact that Xbox games seem to fall in price sooner save me money on discs.
Really looking forward to playing LA Noire this week.

I play the Wii with my son quite often. Usually the standard fair of various Mario games with Galaxy 1 & 2 and Super Mario Bros Wii being the main ones. Although Donkey Kong Country was quite the nice change of pace.
Thinking of picking up the Tron game but it would be more for me than him.

Possible, but not automatically.

It's not automatic that grey-haired farts will lose to whipper-snappers on shooters. I beat the crap out of teenagers on Call of Duty games (I play World at War more than the others) pretty consistently, almost to the point I feel sorry for them. They probably don't want to know they are getting owned by somebody that could be older than their father.

 Re: PS3/Xbox/Wii
Agreed, Shaggy. I don't know why, but I got that thing for Halo. Just love playing them (the shooters I mean, i.e. Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach). I often surprise the hell out of people on Live because I'm so obviously not a kid, plus I have a weird French accent! WTF? Who the fuck is this guy? It's actually useful, because people who don't know you come to underestimate you when you got speech impediments, accents, a weird pitched voice or whatnot. Underestimating your opponent is fatal in a game like this (provided you know what you're doing, of course).
When you know that a kid who's ten might very well know what he's doing despite his high-pitched, over-enthusiastic shrieking voice, you're not fooled anymore. You already got an advantage over 80% of the people playing on Live right there. I can't tell you how many times I heard twenty something trashtalking kids and getting humiliated by the end of the game. Dumbasses.

 Re: PS3/Xbox/Wii
Lucky for you he's into Black Ops now... But, ya know, if you want to PM your ID, I'll give him permission to go on Xbox live and make him put up or shut up (I'm talking smack for him knowing he would do it anyway)...
