What new games are out there?
You know, a lot of times when I am walking through game stores I just glaze over and miss new stuff.

So, what is new out there?

Did you hear that DCC RPG from Goodman Games is now in stores!

RuneQuest 6 will be released in the next month or so - and I know you loves you some RQ!

Kidding aside, you might like how the combat system works. It flips the trad method of deciding on a special manoeuvre and then attempting to perform it at a penalty. Instead, it generates combat moanoeuvre potential from the rolls and you pick from a list of possible manoevres based on the outcome. It simulates waiting for an opening to do something special. As a result, many combats are decided more by trips, pins, and disarms than by just going at it trying to stab people back and forth. To check in out, you could probably pick up the PDF of RQ6's lesser cousin, 'Legend' by Mongoose which sells for only $1.00, and there's probably also a free SRD for it.

I haven't been paying enough attention to recent releases. Fading Suns 3e was on my radar until the debacle. The only other thing I was wanting to check out was the new Iron Kingdoms RPG that was supposed to come out some time this year.

The last games I purchased were Savage Worlds Deluxe (very nice book) and The One Ring boxed set. I haven't done anything with either but it has been a tough year for scheduling games (due to non-gaming issues).

I picked up a copy of Bulldogs! at the RPG Mini-Con I attended this past Saturday.

It is based on the FATE system, which I like for the most part.

I'm not really into the retroclones, but this game looks incredible. I ordered a copy and it's on the way (along with the new Advanced Fighting Fantasy).

I have DCC and it's really good. It gives you the old school fantasy feel that I think D&D Next/D&D 5th edition is going for, and DCC may make D&D Next/D&D 5th edition too little too late.

It's a great value at $40, to get this much information in a game like D&D 4th edition (which I do have) costs around $100. So much more affordable and more value for your money

FATE: Bulldogs! has been a great read so far.

One of the most comprehensible introductions to FATE that I've seen. Not to mention a cool premise and interesting assortment of alien species to choose from (or create your own!).
