[deleted] Never mind. I'm a Christian, BTW.

[EDIT]
Whoops. Sorry. Deleted my post after your responded to it. Decided I was, in fact, being thin-skinned. You have a right to your parody.

Edit

Please accept that none of this is meant with Malice. Okay?

Ironically I agree. Zombie Jesus is way over played. I also dislike giving christains attention on their holiday's-in my mind it tends to validate their belief that everyone else has to do more than just respect their beliefs, which I think everyone is entitled to no matter what I personally believe, but need to some how also adjust their life for fear ofending them.

Yes, absolutely I would. I'd also make fun of your: height, weight, political beliefs, sexual orientation, wardrobe choices, friends, religious affiliation, pet ownership, any avowed interest in Harry Potter, any admission of enjoying LARP'ing and well...any damned thing I feel like. It's not because I think I'm better than you, or even smarter or even actually right about anything. It's because I have a sense of humor, and well this is the internet. Seriously how does nayone take any of this seriously?

But it gets old.

Well crap, I thought you were supposed to Forgive me and then turn the other cheek! (Sorry I was watchingg Bill Hicks last night, I couldn't resist.)

For the record I support people making fun of me, and keeping the tone lighthearted here. We shouldn't take ourselves too seriously folks.

Sure. I realize you are just having fun with the original post.

Ironically, I agree with you here. I respect all faiths and I don't believe in national holidays that are tied to Christian holidays. I feel like we Christians should have to use vacation days for our religious holidays the same as anyone else.

For the record, I don't take the joke seriously, I can see the humor in it. At the same time, I do "note" the general lack of respect behind such humor. (Lack of respect, BTW, is an IMPORTANT thing in humor. I get taht too.) I would just say that making fun of things has a limit that is vaguely defined by social graces, context, and respect for others. I don't make fun of fat people of of sexual orientations, for instance. The exception to that rule is when I am with friends and we are making fun of ourselves, e.g. if we were both fat and talking about breaking chairs and shit. Otherwise, I don't feel comfortable characterizing others' craziness, life problems, preferences, or whatever. Maybe you do. That's fine. It's why I reconsidered and removed my original post. I think our differences here may be in the way we see the context of the Internet.

That, and I was being too thin-skinned. Zombie Jesus for the win.

The one thing that sucks about the webs is we lose all of the subtle nonverbal cues we'd get in a real conversation. We've all been there.

Just last week I'm ashamed to admit I was watching Beverly Hills Cop III, and I was actually enjoying it.

There. I said it.

For the record, I mock islam more that chrisitanity.

I mock christianity because a lot of it's proponents mock, abuse, attack and harass other people, try to force their views on them, etc. I'm talking about the kind of christians who are forever trying to turn their beliefs into laws. I've also been abused by christians and it doesn't give me a good attitude towards them.

i don't mock christians who don't try to beat me over the head with their faith or force it on me, and can even respect those who spend more time following jesus' directions to help the needy and not be greedy. I just find them to be a minority.

AFAIC, I wish christian fundamentalism would die in a car wreck on the way to islamic fundamantalism's funeral.

And it was a fucking rpg related joke, for hell's sake. I admit I don't see too many islamic rpg related jokes or cartoons, maybe I should create one.

Let's see...."Achmed liked the idea of RPG's, but had a hard time trying to figure out a way to get his suicide bomber character to advance a level."

There's no need to respect other's beliefs if you think they're stupid, that kind of thinking transforms us all from human beings into salesmen. If you think a religion is dumb, say it is dumb. You might be right or wrong, or have a good reason for thinking that or not, but how are we gonna know if you're going around trying really hard to pretend to respect something you don't?

I mean, assuming you actually want to contend with the ideas. If you don't, yeah, just say whatever it takes to get things back on track to what you do want to talk about.
