Eastern Europe: Help me explore a Shadowrun 4 setting.
So I'm setting up for my next campaign-we're pretty close to the PC's getting lit up in my current game, and the players have expressed their interest in a higher powered game. So I've settled on using Eastern Europe as a back drop for a Vampire hunting game. I think this game will have some pretty seriously fun themes to explore.
So help a fool out. What things would you look at for locations? Neat places? Fun legends or themes? Lay it on me!

http://rpggeek.com/thread/785645/rpg-ch ... k-04-01-12Check this link out for a shadowrun idea. You might want to add it to your SR world sometime even if it's not useful just now.

The game is going to be higher powered with the main goal to be hunting vampires. What is vampirism like in SR4?
If it's like a plague, you might want to use plague imagery - official looking but useless quarantine zones, mass graves hidden from view, everything is either completely filthy or absolutely frigid-clean...?

Re: Eastern Europe: Help me explore a Shadowrun 4 setting.
Sorry it's been busy.
Vampirism is often handled like an "Infection" in SR4. I like to adhere to that idea loosely-adding some elements of the traditional "ancient evil" to it. For the purposes of this game I'll be using-I think-an ancient order that has survived the "down cycle" of magic, and has secretly worked their way into certain corporations, governments and secret orders. A regional power, with some international presence. However due to infighting, secrecy needs, sunlight and the order that the players belong to they've yet to become a global threat.
JD: I'll need to read your comments before I can seriously offer any commentary. I'll try to make time to do that this coming week. (We're missing some metal at work, and I'm sick. So off my game.)

Hope you'll be OK, both with the sickness thing and not being in trouble over the missing metal. Hey, not accusing you of taking it, I hope no one else does.
