 Dave Arneson has Passed Away.
I'm trying to find the right link to source it properly, but the news is spreading. We've lost yet another giant. From tBPAnd here's the post from James M. on the OD&D boards.

Vale, Arneson. May the afterlife be gonzo.

I like to think that up in heaven, he and Gary could recreate their worlds, only really recreate them and be like observing gods. Imagine the campaigns!

Re: Dave Arneson has Passed Away.
I went to Gencon a few years ago and caught the man hanging out at a booth. I walked up to him, confidently and yet humbly, and held out my hand.
"Thank you, sir," I said to him, "for everything."
He shook my hand and looked perplexed -- what the hell did I mean? Thanks for...what, now? Still, he was polite and smiled.
I like to think that, a few seconds later, he turned the incident over in his head and thought, "Oh, for all of this! The HOBBY! Oh, ok. Yeah, I helped make this happen. What was with the tie...?"
Thanks, Mister Arneson. Thanks for everything.

As you might have seen elsewhere - it is now true. WotC put up a nice little piece.

Takes more than one hit to kill a level 30 GM.

Re: Dave Arneson has Passed Away.
My condolences to his family and friends. I owe him years of roleplaying fun.
I played Keep on the Borderlands in honor of Gygax, what should I play in honor of Mr. Arneson?
Anybody has a recommendation?
